Gerphil Flores Ryzza Mae Show Interview, Sings AGT Songs and Pusong Bato (Video)

Asia’s Got Talent finalist Gerphil Flores appeared on GMA 7’s ‘The Ryzza Mae Show’ this Thursday, May 21. As expected, the 24-year old classical crossover singer had fun moments with the child wonder. In fact, she sang all the songs she used during the AGT audition, semi-finals, and finals, and Pusong Bato.

Immediately after entering the stage, Gerphil sang the folk song “Katakataka” to the amazement of the audience especially the elderly people. But no, she’ wearing white polo this time instead of her usual red attire. And by the way, this is the first time I noticed that she could be the best Marian Rivera look alike.

During the interview, Gerphil told Ryzza Mae Dizon that she has interested in classical music since she was small. Ryzza Mae told her she’s beautiful and asked her if she is a foreigner. The Golden Buzzer girl said her father is German and her mother is a Filipina. Nevertheless, she says she is a Filipino by heart and soul.

Gerphil said her name was taken from German and Philippines. As a natural comedian, Ryzza Mae said that her parents also did the same; her name would be Pampabu, the coined word of Pampanga and Cebu. Later, Gerphil said she is currently studying at UP College of Music so she could still improve her singing talent.

When asked about her experience in Asia’s Got Talent, Gerphil admitted that she got nervous because she knows the judges are high profile individuals in terms of music, and that the show is being watched not only in the Philippines but in the entire Asia as well. She added that there are many talented contestants at the show.’

Then, Ryzza Mae requested Gerphil to sing the songs she sang at Asia’s Got Talent. To start with, Gerphil sang “Speak Softly Love” which she sang during her audition at AGT. But this time, she was sitting on sofa and belting her same classical voice. Ryzza Mae could not help but to ask if it was really her voice.
Gerphil also sang her winning piece, “Impossible Dream,” and “Love Story,” which she sang during the AGT semi-finals. Once again, the child wonder praised her voice and singing style. But because we all know that Ryzza Mae’s favorite song is “Pusong Bato,” she requested Gerphil to sing it, and they both sang together.
